This picturesque facility opened 1st February 2003 on the site of the original Hot Sea Baths built in the early 1900's on Napier's Marine Parade.
The Ocean Spa Complex provides open air heated pools all year including a 25m lap pool, two leisure pools, indoor and outdoor spas and a toddler's pool.
The outdoor spas are raised high enough for those seated to enjoy the expansive sea views through the protective
glass fencing.
Included also in the complex are a steam room, sauna, sun bed, massage facility and the Ocean Club
Gym.
The essence of the Ocean Club Gym is style and class, with state of the art equipment and expansive sea views. The gym has limited membership and gives members access to the pools and member benefits at Soak, the resident cafe and restaurant and the other services at an attractive price.
Soak the on site cafe and restaurant, is stylishly informal and provides diners with options from breakfast to dinner, coffee, nibbles or just a snack.
Relaxation, chilling out and body energising are the aims of the facility. Fun, leisure, family time and the provision of a quality visitor and local resident attraction are the goals
Spacious family changing rooms with an adjoining bathroom, cater well to family needs, with electronic self serve lockers
providing security for personal property.
The differing depths and temperatures of the pools create the environment and provide the means for exercise, fun, relaxation and a recharging of the body and mind for people of all ages.
Health and Safety are top priorities with staff. The Ocean Spa has adopted the Hawke's Bay Pools Charter with specific guidelines to protect pool users. Responsible child care by care givers and parents along with no running and under three's wearing swimmer nappies are strenuously enforced by staff to safeguard all patrons.
